i'm not going to lie- i'm a glass half full kinda gal, and so with the sad news of the format breakup, i bring you great news:
death cab for cutie is releasing a new album.
it's coming in may kids, and it's gonna be great. so in order to get you pumped up for the greatness headed our way, i'm gonna introduce you to the group.
although the format holds a dear place in my heart, i have been listening to death cab for many years now, and their laid back, chill sound is good for any occasion. seriously. i'm going to focus on their album plans because this is the release that made me fall in love with them. it's hard to stop listening to plans once you get started. this album can seriously fit any atmosphere:
i wake up to marching bands of manhattan, i cry to brothers on a hotel bed, i shower to....well.....the whole album. i mean, this music will wake you up, put you to sleep, create a great ambience at your party, makes you sexy when you drive. whatever your music needs, death cab will satisfy.
now the boys in death cab for cutie may not be much to look at, but they make up for it with their soft, meaningful tunes. give 'em a listen, and while you're at it, check out lead singer ben gibbard's other works: he also sings in the postal service and all-time quarterback. i'm putting my fave songs up from deathcab, but hopefully you will really give them a chance!

I've just started listening to Death Cab for Cutie. I find them comforting, but I haven't really paid that much attention. Educate me.
educate you? i think i have my friend! listen to plans and you'll be hooked! i like some of their old stuff, but not all of it. check out photobooth, 405 (acoustic), a moviescript ending, the sound of settling. those should get you started on the old death cab ; )
